Our English resources reflect our philosophy that activity-based learning plays a key role in the teaching of English knowledge and skills. Our passion for reading underlies many of our resources.
READING
Year Group Book lists include lists for each fiction genre, non-fiction and poetry recommendations. A range of reading challenges with awards are available to encourage all abilities and levels of enthusiasm with this key skill. There are challenging year group challenges designed to motivate established readers. For those that need a little encouragement there are Mini Challenges – 5 challenges linked by genre. Our Reading Trios are just that – 3 challenges focused on a type of book E.g., Picture books; Animal Stories; aimed at helping the reluctant reader find that one book that gets them into reading for pleasure. All of our challenges have certificates to mark the children’s achievements.
