There are 3 new Activity Packs with resources for reading. Our members love these packs – they had the highest downloads in 2024. Feedback from teachers includes:

Hidden Figures by Margot Lee Shetterly – [29files] Set against the backdrop of the civil rights movement in USA, this is the true story of NASA’s African-American female mathematicians who played a crucial role in America’s space program. These women overcame discrimination and racial segregation to become vital parts of mathematics, scientific, and engineering history.
Frequently used with Space and Black History topics, but would be great for biography writing too.
Rumaysa by Radiya Hafiza – [63 files] A great mash up of 3 traditional tales written from the perspective of the heroines. The tales are told with humour, spinning the classic fairy tale to show that anyone can be a hero or heroine. Perfect for English Traditional Tales units.
The Sleeping Sword by Michael Morpurgo – [45 files] The Sleeping Sword blends a contemporary tale with Arthurian legend to tell the story of Bun Bendle who is blinded in an accident.
Typically used to link with the legend of King Arthur, but also has good links with disability and coping with a new normal.
Arithmetic assessment packs for the end of the Spring Term for each year group. Included in each pack are:
- Teacher Guide including a mark scheme
- Pupil Test
- 2 editable spreadsheets for gap analysis.
Morning Work
March and April’s Morning Work is available on the website. Different activities every day which match the National Curriculum objectives for each year group. All are predated and ready to use and includes the following:
Monday: Maths Mania
Tuesday: Take 3 – a writing activity using specific grammar
Wednesday: WOW Words – vocabulary work
Thursday: Teaser – Maths Reasoning and Problem-solving
Friday: Flashback – activities for Maths; GPS and Topic for retrieval practice
