Welcome to March uploads!

We are thrilled to tell you more about the resources that we have uploaded to our website this month.

ENGLISH

NEW: GPS Let’s Talk – we are very excited about this brand hew range for GPS. Many of our members use our Maths Let’s talk series already; so, we decided to create something similar for GPS. Let’s Talk is a series of PowerPoints which contain a series of common misconceptions about GPS, as discussed by a group of children – but which child is correct? How are the others incorrect?

Concept cartoons are a great way to assess understanding at the start, during or at the end of a unit of work. They can be used for retrieval practice and be an alternative way of doing Y6 SATs revision.

This month we have uploaded the Word Class pack; further packs will be added in the coming months.

READING GUIDE: Call of the Titanic by Lindsay Galvin. A brilliant book if you are studying the tragedy of the Titanic; but useful for topics involving North America or the Arctic. The book comprises narrative and nonfiction writing and offers good opportunities for  News Report writing and Recounts. There are 94 files providing a wide range of activities for each session. Included in the pack is a Teacher Guide which details: discussion questions; reading activities, including comprehension; GPS links; writing opportunities and vocabulary work for each chapter. Also included is a list of ideas for Foundation Subjects. Resources are provided too.

MATHS

Mental Maths Ladders: We have added a pack for the Spring Term in the usual format. Each pack contains 2 sets of 5 sheets; each sheet has 3 ladders with varying levels of challenge. The objectives covered match our Mental Maths Programme. Pack , which covers Autumn and Spring Term objectives, is available now with a further pack due next term.

MORNING WORK: We have added the final pack – pack 3. Each day includes Maths; GPS and a short reading comprehension. A PowerPoint is available for display alongside Pupil sheets. An overview of the domains covered each week is provided too.
