Our KS2 English resources for reading , writing and grammar, spelling and punctuation. reflect our philosophy that activity-based learning plays a key role in the teaching of English knowledge and skills. Our passion for reading underlies many of our resources.

READING

We offer a range of materials for Reading:

  • Reading Guides for books. Each guide contains Teacher Guidance for each chapter of the book; reading activities which includes comprehensions, vocabulary work and a range of activities to delve into the plot, characters and literary devices used by the author. There are ideas for writing and foundation subjects with links to GPS. All fully-resourced.
  • Reading Skills. A range of editable PowerPoints and activities which focus on key skills: text retrieval; inference and deduction; comparison etc
  • Reading Challenges. A range of reading challenges with awards are available to encourage all abilities and levels of enthusiasm with this key skill.
  • Book lists. Year Group Book lists include lists for each fiction genre, non-fiction and poetry recommendations. Perfect to assist with stocking libraries or recommending books.

WRITING

NARRATIVE WRITING: Writing Workshops use beautiful images to inspire young writers, develop vocabulary and stimulate curiosity. Short writing tasks are a great way to build writing stamina.

NON FICTION WRITING: Units for each main type of non fiction writing include a Teacher Guide to aid planning. All PowerPoints are editable and associated activities are available too. Other resources include: Steps to Success; Writing frames and WAGOLLs. Evrything you need to create the perfect unit to meet the needs of your class.

POETRY WRITING: Units for each of the main poetic forms include an editable PowerPoint, Steps to Success, Writing Frames and a bank of poems, Also available is a series of PowerPoints for poetic devices.
