We are very proud that every month we provide a great range of resources to support our subscribers with their teaching and help to lessen their work load.
To help you all to get ready for the Spring Term, we have uploaded the following to the website:
READING: Mary Poppins Activity Pack and resources. This includes 60 files of resources; suitable for whole class reading and group guided reading. Opportunities for writing and links to foundation subjects are set out in the Activity Pack.
WRITING: Using figurative language. This PowerPoint looks at using figurative language in descriptive writing; it assumes that the poetic devices are familiar to the class. [There are separate PowerPoints for each poetic device available in the Poetry section of the website.] Included in the PowerPoint are some short activities for writing.
GPS: Games and activities. We continue to add games and activities – this month there are activities for suffixes and prefixes and Word Class Bingo.
MENTAL MATHS: Numbercross. A brand-new activity to support mental maths. For each year group there are 5 puzzles of mixed operations.
MULTIPLICATION/ DIVISION: Let’s talk for Y3, Y4 and Y 5 to match WRM Spring Term units. Also, Reasoning and Problem-solving for Y3 and Y4.
RATIO: Let’s talk for Y6.
Let’s talk is a series of discussion prompts covering common misconceptions – a great way to assess conceptual understanding.
MORNING WORK: January, February and March. Activities match to National Curriculum objectives for each year group. All the PowerPoints are predated and ready to use and include the following:
Monday: Maths Mania
Tuesday: Take 3 – a writing activity using specific grammar
Wednesday: WOW Words – vocabulary work
Thursday: Teaser – Maths Reasoning and Problem-solving
Friday: Flashback – activities for Maths; GPS and Topic for retrieval practice
